How cute. My best suits are orange.
[but he...doesn’t sound amused. No, the voice over this feed doesn’t sound amused at all. Yet as hard and stoic as it sounds, you can sort of hint that he might be smiling. or smirking. Or an uncanny combination of the two. He DID pitch a fit earlier, but that was when no one....was around..and was looking BUT!!...something hard lands next to his phone- it makes a thunk! sound]
A classic, really! I wasn’t counting on many of us -or anyone I knew- to take these missions seriously, but. Aha, did you ever.
[LIKE HE’S ONE TO TALK.]
Either way. I hope you’re happy. [A sigh....and a last sound, a loud rrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip--]

Would you like me to bring back an extra packet of laundry detergent? [by some miracle he manages to keep the tremor of just-about-to-laugh out of his voice.]
audio.
You don't need to go through the trouble. [he'd appreciate it though....kudou..]
A minor set back, honestly.

It's fine, I'm at the store now anyway. But it definitely could have been worse! Some of the people who were poisoned are still having difficulty getting sick out of their shoes. [a little too cheery-sounding there, buddy...]

Oddly enough, I found it a little hard to believe that our fellow residents managed to get their hands dirty- quite literally. It just goes to show how out of the loop I am. [not that he...cares.]
no subject
Well, I think that's just a part of human nature. A lot of people here probably feel like they're swimming upstream, right? I think the saying 'desperate times call for desperate measures' would be an accurate one to use in this situation.
I'd suggest you keep an eye on the missions sent out in the future. Not everyone is willing to continue taking out loans if they're low on points, and it would really be awful if damaged clothing becomes the least of your worries one day.
no subject
Although, I'm sure that doesn't mean you're exempt from taking on the missions yourself, are you?
no subject
I haven't participated in any since that arcade game challenge, actually. I don't mind having to take loans out. [his motivations are a little skewed, after all. taking a back seat suits him completely fine right now.] I can at least promise that I won't be leaving you with any other orange clothing.

Ah, I'd like to think these missions will be more...accommodating in the future. Something at least most of us can make sense of.
[he's just mad 'cause what the heck is a video game ANYWAYS...]
no subject
either way, he hasn't exactly enjoyed any of the recent tasks either, which has him agreeing almost immediately.]
It would be nice, wouldn't it? I have a feeling that we won't be so lucky though, if the small pattern that's starting to set actually holds water.

I think what I'm anticipating most is the possibility of animosity forming within our little groups. These missions can only go for so long...
[he sort of trails off here, as if waiting for Kudou to finish off the rest of his sentence, but picks up again.] Until, well. Resentment, I'd think.
no subject
this time there's a note of mild sympathy in his voice instead of the earlier amusement.] Mm, very true. It's a shame, since there seem to be a few people here who are determined to keep the peace. I think it will probably be the hardest on them in the future... Especially the ones who won't even bother planning for the possibility of things going awry.
audio;
[NOPE, CAN'T SYMPATHIZE, already had to wash some orange out himself.]
audio.
For me anything beyond the neutrals is a bad color. [A light-hearted laugh that doesn't quite find it's tune.]
But I...suppose it could have been worse!
audio.
The neutrals? Ehhh, but that's real boring! You've gotta have some fun and try something different!
[In a voice that's just a tad too cheerful:] But you're right! At least it wasn't you that got turned orange.
audio.
[oh.] Oh!
Why, that's terrible! [if you could see elijah now...] How on earth did they manage to do that?
audio.
[Biased, who's biased. But oh no... There's the other question.] I dunno, maybe it was paint! But I wasn't the only one who got turned orange, y'know.
audio.
But in all seriousness...do you have an idea of who might have done such a thing? [It seems like Elijah is taking this more seriously than we thought...]
audio.
But... Yeah, I know! It was probably that stupid prince who did it.
audio.
'Prince?' Ah- I don't think I've met him directly, but I know the one. [his reputation precedes him, after all...] I've been pretty fortunate not to get in the way of his mischief...then again, I suppose it can't be helped!
audio.
Yeah, yeah, that guy! You don't wanna meet him anyway. I know we've probably got loads of weird people here, but he's even worse!
At least it was just your suits!
audio.
Everyone else seems to be thankfully placid. For the most part.
[Oh, that's right-] I don't believe I ever heard your name-?
audio.
[--Oh, wait, what's that?]
Eh? I'm Rin! What's your name?
audio.
I'm Mr. Gabriel. I'm glad to have found yet another resident that's just as sensible as they should be. [as in you don't seem as looney as everyone else or MAYBE YOU ARE...]
audio.
That gets him a laugh. Well, Rin can't say he exactly agrees with that, but hey...!] Nice to meet ya, Gabriel! Is the guy who dyed your suits one of those who isn't sensible?
audio.
Ah, but I suppose I'm not one to talk.
audio.
(action)
Well, Meredith was hardly convinced but he knew he needed to rest himself eventually. And of course, they'd agreed to meet up later, which is where Meredith is headed now. They ARE only two rooms away from each other, but really when did distance ever keep Meredith from worrying about what Elijah might be up to.. And this is hardly their home.
Meredith approaches the door and already hears Elijah talking to... the phone? (To or on-? He.. was honestly still confused about the cell phone functions.) Either way, Meredith decides to wait a moment- that is, until he hears that tear. He starts. ]
Wha- Elijah? [ And a loud knock. ]
action.
He looks towards the door. Elijah feels a surge- a welling up in him the minute he hears Meredith's muffled voice on the other side. Grabbing the remains of his suit, he walks over and swings the door open. He doesn't need to think twice.]
Meredith. [Elijah INHALES SHARPLY and displays the suit for Meredith to see. Now that Meredith is here Elijah can....well throw another fit. An EVEN BETTER fit. ] Do you see this? Do you know what it is?
Ruined! [And he drops the suit into Meredith's unwaiting arms and stalks off into the room again.] Out of all the cowardly, elementary, fickle things-

Meredith watches Elijah briefly, quietly, just listening while he weighs the orange fabric in his hands as if that would tell him exactly what happened (or who did it). Meredith knows better than to interrupt, so he waits until Elijah is done before he finally asks, ]
How many are like this? And why is it torn... [ He doesn’t blame Elijah for being upset, but Meredith isn’t exactly impressed when he spies the torn sleeve in the trash can. ]
