That was just a comparative example. Simply put, if you have a reason to suspect something bad might happen and prepare for it in advance, you won't have to worry about it as much.

Try a regular amount on one wash cycle with spot remover. If you can't get it out with that, I'm afraid you'll have to buy new clothing.
